(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Wisconsin's total cheese output fell for an eighth consecutive month in July when compared to year-to-year figures.

The latest dairy product summary from the USDA notes that state dairy plants produced 282.2 million pounds of cheese that month, which was down 2.1 percent from a year earlier, but 1.9 percent more than this past June, which had less days on the calendar. That was a slight 0.7 percent increase over 2018, and 0.6 percent more than the previous month's production totals. Dry Whey output in Wisconsin was recorded at 23.5 million pounds, which was down 7.7 percent from last year, and 9.7 percent less compared to last month.
