CAR BUYING SEMINAR TO BE HELD

Monday, February 28th, 2005 -- 11:59 AM

Purchasing a vehicle is one of the biggest investments that people make. A couple upcoming seminars will help people make their purchases wisely.

As part of the Adult Financial Literacy campaign spearheaded by the Clark County extension office, there will be car buying seminars:

Thursday, March 17, 2005
Thorp Fire Hall
6:00-7:00 p.m.

Thursday March 24, 2005
Clark County-UWEX
7:00-8:00 p.m.

On Thursday morning, the people leading the meetings appeared on our Viewpoint program.

Christy Brooks of USDA?s Rural Development office explained those in attendance would learn about credit approval, warranties, leasing and buying and more.

Also leading the seminars will be Todd Kryzanski of Courtesy Auto and Truck Center in Thorp and Mike Gross of Gross Automotive Group.

Both Gross and Kryzanski said they?re seeing more and more people with bad credit. In fact, they?re seeing an increase in bankruptcies. Depending on your financial situation, the right vehicle might not be the one with all the bells and whistles, but the cheapest vehicle might not be right either if it?s going to nickel and dime you to death.

If you?d like more information on the seminar, you should call the Clark County Extension Office at 743-5121.
