Successful Summer Playdate for the Neillsville Optimist Club

-The Neillsville Optimist Club held a successful Summer Playdate on the Neillsville High School football field on Wednesday of last week.All of their volunteers/members were at the field at 4:30 p.m. to set up all of the events: they had eggs to move, tables to move, equipment to be brought over from the high school, and they had many hands to get this done. They were open at 6:00pm and slowly but surely the football field filled with kids running, playing with hoops and bubbles, laughing, learning about the old fashioned games, thanks to Deb Perkl & Betty, doing the Linde dance and music all evening, thanks to Riley of WCCN, painting and creating a beautiful mural, thanks to Bridgette Roehl, cracking eggs open and dumping a large cache of candy, thanks to Cummins-Filtration into their bags and lastly the ice pops.
A very special thank-you to Cummins Filtration for the $500 contribution to this event, and providing 3 volunteers: Sami, Khou,and Pruthy, which was very helpful. Thanks to Neillsville Rec Dept. for making it possible to use the football field and equipment. and Schuster-Campman Abstract for the egg hunt bags. Thanks to all of the participating Optimist members, who work each day to make the future brighter by bringing out the best in children, in their communities and themselves.
