Next Meeting of 15-Member Speaker's Task Force on Suicide Prevention on Monday in Marshfield

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -State Rep. Joan Ballweg of Markesan has announced another public hearing for the 15-member Speaker's Task Force on Suicide Prevention.The meeting is slated for July 29 at the Marshfield Clinic's Laird Center in Marshfield. Representatives from the National Farm Medicine Center, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and University of Wisconsin-Extension are expected to be on hand to present information. The hearing will also allow for a time of public testimony.
The Speaker's Task Force on Suicide Prevention is charged with evaluating the state's current suicide prevention efforts, identifying new opportunities to target at-risk communities, increasing awareness for evidence-based programs and protocols and investigating new treatment and prevention options. Next week's meeting begins at 12:00 noon.
