Appointments, Reports, Resolutions and Tours at Monday's Clark County Board of Supervisors Meeting

Tuesday, July 16th, 2019 -- 10:28 AM

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a few appointments to begin their meeting on Monday.

The board approved Brittany Mews as the Director of Public Health/Health Officer for Clark County. The board also approved Kristin Weiler-Nytes and Susan Backaus to replace Dr. Meyer and Cindy Eichman on the Board of Health. The board also heard a couple reports. The board heard a report from two representatives of West Central Regional Planning Commission and the Regional Business Fund. They went over some projects they’ve helped communities throughout the county with as well as the other services they offer like micro loans for disaster relief and more. The board also heard a report from the Veteran’s Service Office. They went over the services provided to county veterans and other political items regarding veterans. The board also approved a few resolutions. The first was to remove a 40 acre landlocked parcel of land from the County Forest Crop Law and try and sell it for $1,500 an acre for a total of $60,000. The county has already received interest in this land from several interested parties. The money from this sale would be put into an account used for the purchase of more county land in the future.

The board also approved a resolution selling some county land in the Town of Mead. The land will be sold for $4,000 an acre for a total of $46,880. The money from the sale would go into the general fund. Finally, the board approved Selk Electronics to put in a tower and internet equipment at Russell Memorial Park and Bruce Mound Winter Sports Area as well as Mead Lake Campground. The county would not receive any kind of monetary payment for these towers, but they, as well as users of the campground and sports area, would receive free WiFi internet service. Finally, the board ended their meeting by taking a tour of several county spots including the Neillsville Highway Shop, Clark County Fairgrounds, Sherwood Park, Russell Memorial Park, Sportsman Lake and the Loyal Highway Shop.
