Wisconsin Ranks 10th for Craft Beer Production

Monday, July 15th, 2019 -- 6:45 AM

(Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) -Wisconsin ranks 10th in the country for the amount of craft beer produced here.

We're behind the usual suspects, Oregon, California and Colorado but also Texas and Pennsylvania, which took the No. 1 spot. Wisconsin produces five gallons of beer per year for each adult 21 and older. No. 1 Pennsylvania produces 21.3 gallons per adult. Pennsylvania produced 1,229,906,400 12-ounce bottles, while Wisconsin filled 333,022,005 12-ounce bottles. The addiction and recovery support website Alcohol.org pulled together the information on craft beer production using data from the Brewers Association, a craft brewers trade group.

Wisconsin brewers looking for a place to sell beer might consider the Dakotas. North Dakota produced the least amount of craft beer, not quite a half-gallon per adult and 5,415,659 bottles annually.
