Deadline for Crop Acreage Plantings in Regions Impacted by Flooding and Heavy Moisture Extended

Saturday, July 13th, 2019 -- 7:21 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended the deadline for producers to file their crop acreage plantings in regions most impacted by flooding and heavy moisture.

Farmers in 12 states now have until July 22 to file crop acreage documents with their local Farm Service Agency offices. The new deadline applies to farmers in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio and Tennessee. All other states must follow the standard July 15 final sign-up date for reporting spring-seeded crops to FSA and crop insurance agents.

Producers filing reports with FSA county offices are encouraged to set up an appointment before visiting the office. Acreage reports from producers in the affected states who set up appointments before the July 22 deadline are considered timely filed, even if the appointment occurs after the deadline.
