The Owen City Council heard the Community Development Authority’s Report at their meeting last week.Director Tim Swiggum reported that he’s still working with Heartland on the rail/water main issue. The financing for the city’s payment to Heartland is close to completion. Also, at that time, the updated borrowing capacity for the city will be known. Tim attended the Executive Committee Meeting for Farm Tech Days on June 17th. The location of the 2022 Farm Tech Days in Clark County is still being discussed. The DRC is preparing for the Car Show.
The Growin’ Owen committee is continuing to plant flowers around town as part of the City’s Beautification Project and the newly formed Tree Board elected Allison Milbert as their chairperson. Finally, the House of Friends put on the Chicken Dinner for the Owen Jr Fair and there were soccer games at Crowley Park Saturday during the fair.
