Neillsville School District Clarifies Misinformation Regarding a Threat Last Week

-The Neillsville School District has clarified some misinformation that has been traveling through the community regarding a threat to the district last week.According to the district, there was a report, based on hearsay, that came to administration’s attention on the morning of May 15th. The report was investigated immediately, and the student in question was under the supervision of administration and a parent at all times once the report was received. Law enforcement was then made aware of the situation, the results of the district’s investigation, and all actions taken by the district to insure everyone’s safety. At no time were the students or the community in any danger.
The incident is under investigation, so the district couldn't comment any further. The Neillsville Police Department was unable to comment due to the investigation still being active. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department was also unable to comment and our open records request was denied for the same reason.
