Wisconsin Congressman Looking to Protect Family Farms

(WRN) -Congressman Mark Pocan is looking to put a stop to large scale buyouts of family farms.The Democrat wants to indefinitely stop corporate consolidation of farming operations until Congress can pass some laws addressing possible antitrust issues. Pocan says that a small number of corporations are now controlling entire sectors of food production from farming to processing to distribution and that low-income farmers and families are paying the price.
He says the measure has the backing of over 200 farm, food, and consumer advocacy groups.
