Employment Matters at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting last week.The board approved the retirement of custodian Rob Ruggles effective September 3rd. The board wishes to thank Rob for his 21 years of service to the district and wishes him the best in retirement. The board also approved the hiring of Shelia Marg to fill the 5th grade position that was open due to the retirement of Mike Pankratz. The board did table the hiring of a Girls’ Basketball Coach. After interviewing two candidates, administration brought forward the name of Adam Simington to be hired to fill the coaching position for 2019-20, but the board tabled the item until June. The board also approved the Open Enrollment Applications, both in and out, for the next school year.
Four new students are seeking to open enroll out, while two new students have applied to come into the district. Also, on a voice vote, the board approved the co-curricular assignments for 2019-20 as presented. Letters of intent to hire will go out in the next few days. Finally, the board was reminded that graduation for the class of 2019 will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 10:00 AM. Any board member who wished to sit on the stage should notify Julie Van Ark by noon on Friday, May 24th.
