Fun Things Happening in Black River Falls this Weekend

-There are some exciting things happening in the Black River Falls area.I spoke with Amanda Gunn, Executive Director of the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce, and she talked about some upcoming events in the Black River Falls area this weekend.
“It’s opening trail weekend for the ATV trails. So, there’s already been a lot of action going on. A ton of ATV’s and UTV’s going around. So, people are very happy that the trails are open! It’s the season for that.”
“There’s also a Grand Reopening, Open House, Ribbon Cutting and Celebration with music at one of our local hotels. They’ve rebranded. It was the old Arrowhead Lodge and now they are called Sure Stay Plus by Best Western. So, they’re having a ribbon cutting at 2pm on Saturday with food and cake and punch and tours. And then also they're going to be having live music from 9pm-1am. So that’s going on.”
“Also, our Skyline Golf Course is having a Welcome to Summer Party on Saturday. So, there’s going to be all sorts of different food and drink specials all day and they have a band coming in at 8pm Saturday.”
“Also Saturday, weather permitting, it’s the Annual Pace and Pedals event. And that’s by Jackson in Action here in our area. It’s a family friendly event and it includes a duathlon, a 5K color run and then a 1-mile youth race too. And that’s all taking place at Lake Wazee Park here in Jackson County.”
“And then there’s always free entertainment out at our casino pretty much every weekend. They have different music going on and, also, they have a really awesome magician that wanders around the casino floor and he kinda blows your mind! I actually got to experience first hand. He just walk up to patrons and he bent a spoon in my hand. He also did that with a quarter I brought out of my purse. It was pretty crazy, but very cool!”
She also talked about some exciting news regarding a Black River Falls business.
“There are some other projects going on. One of our popular stores downtown, Moe’s Hardware, they are going through a whole store remodel right now, so it’s going to look a bit different in there. So, that’s exciting because I don’t think they’ve done something like that in years.”
