Neillsville City Council Hears Several Reports

Saturday, May 18th, 2019 -- 7:11 AM

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday.

The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes and repairing roads, hauling brush and compost, street sweeping, opening storm drains and more. The Water Department also worked on leaks and the Sewer Department replaced some pumps at the Lift Stations. Finally, Public Works Director Dave Flynn wants to remind residents again to not mow your grass into the streets. It plugs up the storm drains and it’s also very dangerous for motorcyclists. He also mentioned that Neillsville scored well on their Water Quality Report and Neillsville residents will be getting a copy of that report in the mail.

The council also heard a quarterly update from Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer and they heard updates from the Neillsville Heritage Committee Meetings held on April 24th and May 9th. Finally, the council heard the Report of Officers from Interim Police Chief Patrick Fehlman. For the Month of April, the department had 107 complaints, 91 service calls, 46 traffic citations, 84 traffic warnings, 7 crash investigation, 8 ordinance citations, 6 adult arrests, no cases referred to the district attorney’s office, 4 juvenile cases and 49 parking citations.
