People Charged with Arson of Mobile Home Appear in Wood County Court

Friday, May 17th, 2019 -- 12:40 PM

-Three people charged with arson for allegedly starting a fire at a Marshfield mobile home park appeared in Wood County Court on Thursday.

According to court records, 47-year-old Tracy Hoover owned the mobile home where the fire took place, and had asked two others to set the fire. Hoover was apparently being evicted from the park, and court records say the manager told police Hoover said she’d rather burn the house down than allow the park to get it. Police say 26-year-olds Taylor Dickman and Eric Foth started the fire in a bedroom with matches. Police say Foth admitted to starting the fire with Dickman, and the two claim Hoover told them to start it. According to court documents, Hoover was attempting to get insurance money for the loss of her belongings and the mobile home.

All three suspects appeared in court on Thursday. During their preliminary hearing, probable cause was found for Foth and Dickman so their court proceedings will continue and they entered a not guilty plea to the charges against them. They’re scheduled to be back in court on August 9th. Hoover’s hearing was delayed as her lawyer was just appointed on Wednesday.
