Greenwood School Board Discusses Elementary Office/Entry Project

-The Greenwood School Board discussed their Elementary Office/Entry Project at their meeting on Monday.The board was given an update on the project and bids will be opened today. The administration also reviewed some identified areas of concern from the School Safety Assessment and plans to address them. The board also heard an update on the Health and Dental Insurance premiums for 2019-2020. Health Insurance will see a 3.34% increase in premium costs. Dental Insurance premiums will decrease 12.87%. The board accepted the bid to replace condensers and coils for the walk-in freezer and cooler in the elementary school kitchen. Also, there were no budget transfers and the 2019-2020 Budget development is progressing. The board also approved the Middle/High School Student Handbook and the Elementary School Student-Parent Handbook for 2019-2020.
The board approved the Open Enrollment applications for 2019-2020 and approved a waiver of District Policy to allow the for the Hunter’s Safety Course to be taught in district facilities. Also, administration reported to the board about future options for Head Start in the district. Administration will meet with Head Start on May 9th. The administration also shared with the board information about the possibility of joining the Rural Virtual Academy consortium. More information will be presented at the June meeting. Finally, the board approved the 2019-2020 salary increases for Administrative Staff.
