Greenwood School Board Takes Care of Organizational Matters

-The Greenwood School Board elected their officers at their meeting on Monday.

The board elected Dean Lindner as President, Dawn Jacobson as Vice President, Mark Shain as Treasurer, Sarah Shaw as Clerk and Jerome Krempasky as Trustee. In other organizational matters, the board approved Forward Bank as the official business depository, the district newsletter and TRG as the official newspaper, Weld Riley was retained as legal advisor and School Board meetings will be held the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 pm in the Board Room inside Greenwood High School. The board also approved Jerome Krempasky as the WASB Delegate with Dawn Jacobson as the alternate, Mark Shain as the CESA 10 Representative, Sarah Shaw as the CWETN Representative and Dean Lindner as the ESEA Representative. For committees, Linder and Krempasky were selected for Employee Relations, Shain and Shaw for Buildings and Grounds, Shain and Jacobson for Curriculum and Instruction, Lindner and Shaw for Co-Curriculars, and Krempasky and Jacobson for Transportation and Safety.

In employment matters, the board approved the resignation of Marah Bodendorfer from her Middle School Special Education position and Olivia Bretting as a Middle School teacher. The board also approved 36 volunteers. They also heard a couple presentations. Three National Honor Society students recapped the NHS trip to Washington D.C. and New York City and Sarah Shaw received a school board service recognition from the Wisconsin Association of School Boards. Finally, a community member spoke to the board about the district doing different types of programs, like foreign language, to prepare students and also attract students to the district.
