Greenwood City Council Approves Several Items

-The Greenwood City Council approved a few items and heard some updates at their meeting last week.

First, the council held their Organizational Meeting by welcoming their new members, approved the committees, approved appointed positions, approved the official depositories and more. During the public appearance portion of the meeting, Greenwood Elementary Principal Joe Green discussed the Greenwood Schools offering hunter safety for students grades 4th ??" 12th from July 8th to July 20th. The council approved allowing the Hunter Safety course to use the cities shooting range for a field day the morning of July 20th for no more than 3 hours, under the direct supervision of Chief Bock or Officer Kohnert and a certified hunters safety instructor, and only shooting the DNR regulated 22 gun. The officers’ time will be volunteered. An FFA Alumni member discussed bringing back the Tractor Pulls for End of Summer Fest and the Badger State Dirt Flingers discussed having a mini rod and mini truck pulls.

Both groups were advised to look into insurance and come back with more information. During the Public Works portion of the meeting, the council approved building permits, approved a demolition permit, approved a business permit and approved a driveway permit. They also approved the purchase of two loader tires from Mike’s Tire for $4,926, approved the purchase of a dual axle trailer from L&K for $4,528 and approved the purchase of a new garage door opener from Security Overhead Door for $1,350. Finally, the mayor mentioned Clark County’s Business-to-Business Expo and Career Fair on Wednesday, May 8th.
