Wisconsin Could See More Snow this Weekend

Thursday, April 25th, 2019 -- 8:03 AM

(WRN) -It's not something you want to hear, but there might be snow in the forecast again.

It's not something you want to hear, but there might be snow in the forecast again. The National Weather service in La Crosse says there's a possibility of rain AND snow across the state this weekend. Meteorologist Molly Aufforth says one major concern is flooding.

Right now it's looking to be more of an impact in Southeast Minnesota, that will the flow into the Mississippi River, and that will probably stay in the flood stage for quite a bit longer than what we're used to."

Aufforth says it's too early to say how much but it's likely that we'll get some.

"It is difficult to try and predict where that transition zone is, and where the heaviest amounts of snow could fall."

She says forecasters will have a better idea of the impact later this week. Their main concern is flooding. More rain could force both the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers back to flood stages, worsening conditions that were just starting to get better.
