Federal Judge Blocks Wisconsin Republicans from Trying to Defend State's Abortion Laws Themselves

(WRN) -A federal judge has blocked legislative Republicans from trying to defend the state's abortion laws by themselves.Planned Parenthood brought that lawsuit against the state, saying that laws that restrict nurses from providing certain types of abortions and restricting how care can be provided were unconstitutional. Republicans claimed that Attorney General Josh Kaul would undermine the state's defense because of donations he's received from Planned Parenthood during his campaign.
Judge William Conley said that Kaul's staff will be able to adequately represent the state, and that Republicans did not meet the requirements to take part in federal lawsuits.
