Marshfield Man Sentenced for Possession of Meth

-A Marshfield man arrested for trying to smoke meth in a Kwik Trip bathroom was sentenced in Wood County Court.

According to the Marshfield Police Department, at the end of December, an officer noticed John Emond walking through the 200 block of North Central Avenue. The officer new Emond had an outstanding warrant, so he followed Emond to the Kwik Trip on North Central Avenue in Marshfield. The officer found Emond in the bathroom trying to inhale a “crystal-like substance.”

At the beginning of the month, Emond pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine. Another charge was dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 3 years of probation with 3 months of conditional jail time. He was also given an imposed and stayed sentenced to 1.5 years in prison and 2 years of extended supervision, which he’ll serve if he fails his probation.
