Wisconsin Congressman Talks Equalizing Spending for Taxpayers

(WRN) -As the federal budget continues to work its way through the House, Congressman Mark Pocan and the Congressional Progressive Caucus is working to try and equalize spending for taxpayers.Pocan says the ideals of the C P C aren't that different from the rest of Democrats.
"You might see some sharper pencils over at Homeland Security, than maybe the Causus as a whole."
Pocan wants to include a measure that gives the rest of the nation as much money that the government gives the Pentagon.
"Where you had equal amounts of defense and nondefense spending, so that was one priority that we had, we'd like to see us get back to that if at all possible."
A budget hearing was derailed last week when the Progressive Caucus walked away from talks with Democratic leadership, saying that Democrat spending priorities need to change.
