Wisconsin’s Version Of C-SPAN Has New Contract

Legislative leaders have brokered a new contract with Wisconsin’s version of C-SPAN.Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said in a news release Friday that they’ve signed a new four-year agreement with the nonprofit WisconsinEye Public Affairs Network. The news release didn’t disclose any terms of the deal. WisconsinEye President Jon Henkes said in a phone interview that no money will be exchanged between WisconsinEye and the Legislature. He says the deal simply allows WisconsinEye to continue to mount cameras in the state Capitol.
WisconsinEye provides live and archived footage of state Capitol proceedings, including the Legislature’s floor sessions, hearings, committee meetings and news conferences. Coverage is available 24 hours a day on the WisconsinEye website, wiseye.org, and Spectrum cable TV statewide.
