Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Election Results

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed election results at their meeting on Monday.

The canvassing of the vote has been completed and results show that Kim Amacher and Rick Eloranta were re-elected to three year terms. The same voter canvassing showed that the referendum, seeking $400,000 per year for the next five years, passed by a vote of 555-313. Precinct results were discussed and a sincere thank you to all voters who turned to vote was expressed by the board. The board clerk gave the Oath of Office to the re-elected board members as well. In employment matters, the board approved the resignation of Harry Mitchell from the assistant girls’ basketball position and thanked him for his years of coaching the girls’ program.

They also approved the resignation of Laura Koehler from the assistant girls’ basketball position and thanked her for her years of coaching the girls’ program. They also approved the maternity leave for Jenniffer Slowiak that will begin near the end of April and extend through the end of the school year. Finally, the board approved the continuation of the district’s policy with Student Assurance Services to provide student accident insurance for their students and athletes during the 2019-20 school year. The cost of the insurance will remain the same as it was during the 2018-19 school year which is $10,021.20.
