Republican Legislator Wants a Sticker on Gas Pumps

(WRN) -A Republican legislator wants you to be able to see how much the gas tax is.

Legislation from Representative Rob Hutton would require the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection - DATCAP - to develop a sticker showing federal and state gas taxes, to be placed it on gas pumps during annual inspections.

Current state taxes on a gallon of gas are 32.9 cents. Governor Tony Evers' wants to raise total state taxes to 40.9 cent adjust the rate for inflation annually. The federal gas tax is 18.4 cents per gallon.
