Senator Baldwin Responds to Claims Democrats Are Obstructing Appointment of Judges

(WRN) -Senate Republicans are accusing Democrats of obstructing the appointment of current administration judges, which lead to new rules limiting debate in the Senate, which is sometimes called 'the nuclear option'.Senator Tammy Baldwin says the idea that Democrats are obstructionist on judges is ironic coming from Republicans.
"Perhaps there's no better example than Merrick Garland who was nominated by President Obama to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States, and that was obstructed by Mitch McConnell for over a year."
Baldwin says anyone who is going to be appointed for life should be thoroughly vetted.
"We should have ample time on the Senate floor to look into and debate the qualifications, the character, the impartiality, and the independence of these nominees."
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Democrats were unfairly obstructing appointments.
