(WRN) -Senator Tammy Baldwin has joined a push by Democrats to ensure health care coverage for people with pre existing conditions.Senator Tammy Baldwin has joined her fellow Democrats to push for a bill that would ensure the continuing medical coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. Baldwin says that the House has passed a similar bill, but that nothing is happening in the Senate.
"Right now Mitch McConnell has shown no signs of bringing this to the floor for a vote, despite the fact that it has 47 cosponsors."
Baldwin says that the debate over health insurance shouldn't need to be a debate.
"We ought to be moving in a direction of more affordability, standing up to the pharmaceutical companies who are jacking up the prices of life saving medication."
Baldwin says the efforts are a response to the Trump Administration deciding against defending the Affordable Care Act in a lawsuit.
"They are doing everything they can, it seems, to strip 21 million people of their health coverage and protections."
Democrats are making another push on health care after the Trump Administration decided not to defend the Affordable Care Act in a federal lawsuit.
