Neillsville Public Works Asks for Cooperation When Removing Snow

Tuesday, February 26th, 2019 -- 1:06 PM

-The Neillsville Public Works Department continues to keep the streets clean during the unrelenting snow and bitter cold.

Municipalities are scrambling to remove the snow and keep the streets clean as it continues to pile up. The Neillsville Public Works Department continues to ask for residents’ cooperation as they continue to clean the streets and remove the snow. The Public Works Department is completely aware of all the snow piles that are around and they’re doing their best to remove them. Also, be cautious around their equipment as you are a hazard. If you come up on the crew removing snow, go down a different block to get around the equipment if you can. That equipment is dangerous and chunks of ice can shoot out and go through your windshield.

The department also understands the frustration of residents when the plows come through and fill in your driveway or even the sidewalk. They will help you out when they can. Residents should use caution on the school routes because a lot of the snow piles are bigger then the kids, so be careful when going through those intersections. When it comes to parking, park in a clear parking lot like the library/gazebo parking lot so the streets can be cleaned and the Public Works Department doesn’t have to worry about your vehicle being in the way.
