Public Works Report at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting last week.

The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, snow and ice removal, trimming/pruning trees, filling pot holes, maintain street lighting, hauling brush and compost and more. The Water Department also worked on some meter maintenance and the Sewer Department did some lift station maintenance. The council also heard an update on the Phosphorous Multi-Variance Discharge they applied for. Even with this variance, the city still owes $5,238.32 for the amount of phosphorus discharged from the plant.

Finally, for appearances at the Common Council meeting, a resident thanked the Police Chief for all his hard work. Another resident discussed the Rails to Trails project after a negative letter appeared in the Clark County Press and a resident also thanked members of the NIC group for their work on the Rails to Trails project.
