Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.

Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported the Geo-Bee was rescheduled for Tuesday, February 12th and that LifeTouch took spring picutres on Tuesday, February 19th. The AR trip to Perkinstown has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 20th. Elementary Parent/Teacher Conferences will also be in the evening of February 20th. Child Development Days will be held on Wednesday, March 7th from 4pm-7pm and Read Across America will take place the week of February 25th??"March 1st. Finally, he finished his report by presenting the AGR, or Achievement Gap Reduction, mid-year report. Jr/Sr High School Dean of Students Julie Van Ark reminded the board that Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, February 20th from 4pm-6pm and that the band and choir students were at solo and ensemble on Saturday, February 16th at Loyal. Eighteen students competed at the FBLA Regionals in Nekoosa on February 2nd with Ashley Amacher qualifying for the state competition in April.

Friday, February 15th was the 1st semester awards assembly. Finally, congratulations to the wrestlers on a fine season. The Stanley-Boyd/Owen-Withee team won both the conference title in both the dual meet season and the conference tournament. District Administrator Bob Houts reported to the Board on the Trauma Sensitive Schools in-service they hosted on Friday, February 8th. He also presented to the board on the proposed WIAA football conference realignment that puts Owen-Withee in a conference with Colby, Auburndale, Marathon, Abbotsford, Thorp, Athens and Edgar. For communications, President Julie Wendler read and passed out a thank you note from the family of Litta Rowe, thanking the District for the plant that was given in memory of Mrs. Rowe. Litta was the elementary secretary for the District of many years.
