Neillsville City Council Approves Feasibility Study Regarding New Marshfield Medical Center Complex

-The Neillsville City Council approved a feasibility study regarding the Marshfield Health System’s new Neillsville facility.

The purpose of the study is to see what kind of impact this facility could have economically on the City of Neillsville and all of Clark County. It would also look at the impact it would have on the city’s infrastructure in regards to water, sewer, etc. The total cost of the project $13,000, but the city is only putting $2,000 towards the project from the Commission on Economic Development. The West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission is providing $5,000 toward the project with the remaining money coming from donations from local businesses. The council also approved donation money to the Clark County Fairgrounds Revitalization Project. This project is looking to improve the Clark County Fairgrounds and make it more of an event center to host multiple events throughout the year.

The total goal of the project is $1.65 million. The city will be providing a total of $10,000, $5,000 over the next two years, from the Commission on Economic Development to help with the project as it would have an extremely beneficial impact on Neillsville. The council also approved to advertise for a new Police Chief and they approved the salary of the new Police Chief coming to $60,000-$70,000 plus benefits.
