Neillsville City Council Approves Resignation of Police Chief

Friday, February 15th, 2019 -- 11:09 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved, reluctantly, the resignation of Police Chief Scott Klueckmann.

After 28 years with the Neillsville Police Department, Chief Klueckmann has resigned from his position and will be joining the Clark County Sheriff’s Department as a detective. The Chief’s official last day isn’t until March 8th, but he will be using his earned vacation time, so his last day will be today, February 15th. The Chief thanked everyone he’s had the pleasure to work with over the past 28 years and thanked them for his support, especially when he took over the Neillsville Police Department as Chief in 2014. Mayor Chuck Glassbrenner took time to thank the Chief for all his hard work and dedication to the city. He also stated that the city is left in good hands because of the training the Chief provided for his officers.

The Mayor stated they owe Chief Klueckmann a debt of gratitude. Investigator Patrick Felhman will be taking over for Chief Klueckmann while his replacement is found. The Chief has stated he will help with the search and, should an emergency arise, the Chief would step in and take command again until the emergency is over. He stated his desire to get back into the field is what led to his decision to seek the detective position.
