Granton School Board Hears Administrators' Reports

Friday, February 15th, 2019 -- 9:02 AM

-The Granton School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

Principal Amanda Kraus provided behavior updates. The district’s PBIS team will be going and reviewing Augusta’s PBIS system. They are working on their Tier 2 Behavioral Interventions for next year. Once they complete their observation, they will be meeting and discussing any additions to the template for the 2019-20 Tier 2 system. She also provided some curricula updates. The staff, over the past couple of weeks, has been digging into the data of the report card and the D&F list data from the last couple of school years. They are using this data as a staff to continue to make decisions with regard to student academic success. Their data is showing that as a high school, their success rate with regard to the D & F list group of students has gone up by over 10%.

Finally, she stated the district has concluded their hunt for a fulltime band director. Jesse Kozak has filled in the band position and has been doing a great job. His schedule has allowed for MS/HS band and he will begin working with the upcoming 5th graders. The 5th grade gets the privilege of working with Jesse not only in beginning band but in their general music classroom as well.
