Thursday, February 14th, 2019 -- 12:08 PM

-The Workforce Resource Center held its quarterly partnership meeting on Monday.

There were many people in attendance representing different groups. The group heard an update on the Food Share Employment and Training Program, an update from the Marshfield Family Health Center and Dental Clinic, a group working with students teaching life skills and helping them get placed into internships and CVTC updates. The group also heard an update on Clark County holding a Business-to-Business Expo and Career Fair. The plan is to hold this event on May 8th in conjunction with the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau’s Annual Meeting. This would be an opportunity for businesses to network and show Clark County students, technical college students and residents what Clark County has to offer. The group also heard about the House of Mercy in Loyal and their new 2nd Chances Thrift Store coming to Loyal. They also discussed the NewStart Program, which helps newly released prisoners get on their feet.

Finally, the group heard an update from CESA 10 regarding the Youth Apprenticeships, fidelity bonding for employers, a Working Opportunity Tax Credit for employers, the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center’s ribbon cutting for their new wing, the Chippewa Valley Job Fair in May, Energy Assistance still available and the FoodShare Program and an update on the Clark County Young Professionals.
