Marshfield High School Juniors Get a Dose of Life After High School

Thursday, February 14th, 2019 -- 8:02 AM

(WDLB) -Marshfield’s high school juniors got a chance yesterday to get a sense of life after high school, as they prepare for post-secondary education and eventually the workforce.

The 11th annual Xtreme Xploration was held on the U-W-S-P Marshfield campus, where about 300 students were preparing for their futures, participating in employer and student panels dealing with issues like business ethics, learning about post-secondary opportunities from area colleges and universities, seeking advice on resume writing, and gaining valuable information from community leaders. About three dozen community members volunteered to interview students, like Katie Sadowska from Marshfield High School.

Ariel Fernandez of M-H-S said the event was kind of a wakeup call. Sponsoring organizations included Sunrise Rotary, and the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which offered a job fair of sorts, featuring available job opportunities in Marshfield. Several colleges also had reps on hand to answer questions for students thinking about attending their campuses.
