Neillsville Police Chief Resigning, Joining Clark County Sheriff's Department

Friday, February 8th, 2019 -- 11:07 AM

-Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann has announced that he’ll be resigning as the Chief of Police for the City of Neillsville.

The following is an email provided by Chief Klueckmann on his resignation: “After serving the citizens of the City of Neillsville as a police officer and Chief of Police for the past 28 years, I am stepping down and resigning from my position with the city. I have decided to accept a Detective position with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The effective date of my resignation will be March 8, 2019; however, my final day on duty at the Police Department will be February 15, 2019, while I use the remainder of my earned vacation time. While using my vacation time I will remain available to assume command of the Police Department should any emergencies arise but the majority of the day-to-day operations will be turned over to my 2nd in command, Investigator Patrick Fehlman, who will serve as interim Chief of Police until my permanent replacement is found.

I want to thank the many people I have had the privilege of working with over the years while serving this city. I hope that during my tenure I was able to do some good for this community and make it a safer place to live. I look forward to the next stage of my career in serving the citizens of Clark County as an investigator.”
