USDA Report

Now that the U.S. government is back up and functioning, the USDA is starting to release some of its delayed reports.

According to Wisconsin Ag Connection, on Thursday, the agency announced that the Wisconsin all milk price for November was $16.90 per hundredweight. That's 70-cents lower than October's price and $2.20 below November 2017. The U.S. all milk price for November was $17.00 per cwt, 10-cents higher than Wisconsin, but 40-cents below the previous month. Twenty of the 23 major milk producing states had a lower price when compared with October, while only Indiana, Ohio and Texas showing no change in price.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange 40-pound block cheese price closed at $1.49 per pound on January 31, while barrels were $1.30 per pound. The CME butter price was $2.29 per pound.
For the week ending January 26, the Agricultural Marketing Service U.S. weekly 40-pound block cheese price averaged $1.43 per pound, and 500 pound barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $1.28 per pound. The U.S. butter price was $2.26 per pound
