Loyal School Board Approves Employment Matters

The Loyal School Board approved some employment matters at their meeting on Wednesday.The board approved the hiring of a food-service sub and accepted the resignation of their Financial Literacy Teacher, Rich Gaertner. The board also approved a new senior finance class for next year, and approved the purchase of seven IP signs. They display messages in rooms, like the band room, that are too loud to hear the announcements. They also discussed buying a new school van but tabled it until next month and they had the first reading of a new purchasing policy. It spells out when to get bids and board approval for purchases.
Finally, the had the third and final reading of a new transportation policy that allows groups to take a coach bus rather than a school bus for trips over 100 miles as long as the coach bus is less than a 20% upcharge over the regular bus.
