Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves County Tax Levy

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the 2019 budget and county levy at their meeting on Tuesday.

The County has proposed expenditures in the amount of $67,908,889 and proposed revenues in the amount of $43,823,397. The fund balances of $7,376,784 were applied to reduce the levy. Clark County has a total indebtedness of $2,463,492. The levy for Clark County comes to $16,708,708 with a mil rate of $8.05 per $100,000 of property in the county. The board also passed a resolution to apply for a $2,200,000 loan from the State Trust Fund Loan. They county will use that money to do more road construction this summer. Without it, the county would continue to fall further and further behind for road construction as the cost of construction continues to increase. The loan is to be payable within 2 years from March 15th and has an interest rate of 4%. The money can only be used for road construction.

The board also approved several appointments. The approved the reappointment of Gary Leichtman as the Veteran’s Service Commissioner, Peggy Erickson and Carol Oryszcyn to the Library Committee, Louise Olszewski to the Wisconsin Valley Library Service and Maryanne Olson and Virginia Kodl to the Housing Authority Committee.
