Clark County Workforce Quarterly Partnership Meeting

-The Clark County Workforce Quarterly Partnership Meeting was held on Monday.The group, comprising of individuals from many different groups, businesses, organizations and more, herd about many different topics. They heard a presentation from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. The department stated they continue to see positive growth. The state and Clark County have very low unemployment numbers and they have the unique problem of not having enough people for all the jobs available. They also discussed population growth for the county as well as housing needs. They also heard from Abby Vans of Neillsville and heard some updates regarding Abbyland’s apartment project. They also discussed job numbers, workforce resources and the WIOA program including a Certified Nursing Program they’re providing.
Finally, the heard an FSET, or food share, update, an update on the House of Mercy in Loyal, the SCEP, or Senior Program, a presentation on mock interviews from Job Service and an update on Youth Apprenticeships. They also heard some information regarding the CART Center here in Neillsville and some of the events they have coming up.
