Owen City Council Appoints Members to Tree Board

-The Owen City Council appointed members to their Tree Board at their meeting last week.The council approved the appointment of Allison Milbert, Tim Conway, Dani Zarnes, Mary Lynn Kiviko and Jenny Parson to the newly formed Tree Board for the City of Owen. They also approved the appointment of Brad Gokey to the Sewer Committee and Al Gajewsky to the Planning Committee. It was also stated that two different LED lights were installed on Main Street. The council was told to take note on which light they prefer. Finally, the council heard the Community Development Authority’s Report. Tim Swiggum stated Autumnfest was well received. They had 7 Chili contestants, 5 pie eaters, including the Chief of Police, and 15 community organizations were represented.
AIB and CN also spoke at the event and Exit Stage Left was enjoyed by all for the duration of the afternoon. Tim also stated the railroad approval for Heartland is done, Quality Roasting now seeking approval and planning meetings for the Comprehensive Plan have started and continue monthly through September of 2019.
