Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association To Hold Winter Institute In Marshfield

Thursday, October 25th, 2018 -- 9:46 AM

The Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association is holding its annual winter institute early next year to update members and producers about new trends and issues facing their industry.

Wisconsin Ag Connection reports the two-day forum is being planned for January 11-12 at Hotel Marshfield in Marshfield.

The main speaker will be Dr. Gary Graham, a faculty member serving as the Extension Specialist in Natrural Resources at Ohio State University. He'll share his expertise in sustainable tapping, sugarbush management and educational programming for producers.

Lloyd Franz and Jon Baroun will discuss licensing and inspections. And the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture will send representatives to talk about labeling and regulations in the industry. A trade show, award presentations and the Maple Queen Coronation will also be held during the conference.
