Neillsville Man Arrested After High Speed Chase in Eau Claire County Appears in Court

-A Neillsville man arrested in Eau Claire County after a high speed chase appeared in Eau Claire County Court on Tuesday.According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, last month, a trooper tried to stop a vehicle on Highway 53 near County Highway HH in Eau Claire County for traveling 70mph in a 55mph zone. The vehicle, driven by Douglass Polzin of Neillsville, fled the scene and traveled down several different county and town roads with speeds reaching over 95mph. The vehicle eventually crashed into a ditch and Polzin fled on foot. He was apprehended a short while later. A records check indicated that Polzin’s driver’s license was revoked and that he had ten warrants for his arrest which were confirmed active and valid.
Polzin is facing several charges including bail jumping, obstructing an officer, 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, attempting to flee an officer, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating while revoked. During his arraignment on Tuesday, he entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. He’ll be back in court in December.
