Colby Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child Appears in Marathon County Court

-A Colby man, and volunteer firefighter, accused of sexually assaulting two young girls appeared in Marathon County Court on Wednesday.According to prosecutors, 35-year-old Nicholas Koebach would enter the girls’ room at night, put blankets over their head, put his hand over their mouths and tell them to be quiet while he assaulted them as they struggled to get away from him. The assaults occurred over months and year for both girls and a combined 35 times against them. Koebach has been charged with two counts of repeated sexual assault of the same child, two counts of incest with a child by stepparent, two counts of false imprisonment and one count of strangulation and suffocation.
During his preliminary hearing on Wednesday, probable cause was found so his court proceedings will continue. He entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.
