Security Health Plan Once Again Recognized as Qualified Health Plan

Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 -- 8:05 AM

-Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., has again been recognized as a Qualified Health Plan by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, able to offer health insurance coverage in 2019 through the Federally-facilitated Exchange, HealthCare.gov.

With the recent announcement that Marshfield Clinic Health System plans to acquire Beaver Dam Community Hospital, Security Health Plan is pleased to expand its popular Select Exclusive Provider Organization network to Dodge County in 2019. Select offers a top-notch selection of high quality health care providers, including Marshfield Clinic Health System, Ascension ??" North Region, Essentia Health, Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, St. Joseph Hospital in Chippewa Falls and most OakLeaf Medical Network providers. Only insurance companies approved as a Qualified Health Plan are eligible to offer coverage through the Exchange. Purchasing a plan through the Exchange is the only way consumers can receive a tax credit to help reduce their monthly health insurance premium or a cost share reductions to help reduce their deductible and out-of-pocket costs.

Beginning Nov. 1, consumers will be able to compare plan options, calculate what tax subsidy they might qualify for, and enroll in a plan at www.securityhealth.org/myplans. The open enrollment period begins Nov. 1 and goes until Dec. 15. Those who are re-enrolling for 2019 will not have to make any changes during the open enrollment time period if they don’t want to change plans. Their enrollment and tax credit information will be automatically updated with no break in coverage.
