Marathon County Sheriff's Office Releases Name of Inmate Who Died

Friday, October 5th, 2018 -- 9:53 AM

(WDLB) -The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the name of the inmate who died at the Marathon County Jail.

According to Chief Deputy Chad Billeb, 56-year-old Melissa Graebner-Young arrived at the Marathon County Jail on Tuesday after having been placed on a Probation Hold and having been arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, which was her fifth offense. After arriving at the jail she experienced a medical emergency. Correction Officers and Paramedics from the Wausau Fire Department attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful in their efforts.

An autopsy was completed on Wednesday, the results of which are still pending. The Sheriff’s Office likely will not have any results from the autopsy for several weeks. The investigation into Melissa’s death is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
