Greenwood High School Student Participates in Apprenticeship Signing Day
Friday, August 24th, 2018 -- 9:42 AM
-A Greenwood High School Student took part in an “Apprenticeship Signing Day” on Thursday. The event, meant to mimic an athletic signing day, was a way to celebrate the state’s youth apprenticeship program. Treyton Sloniker signed a letter at Royal Construction in the Town of Washington. This will transition him from the youth apprenticeship program to an adult registered apprenticeship in carpentry with Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Rice Lake.
This is an excellent, hands-on way for students to learn on the job. Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin has nearly 1,500 people in its adult registered apprenticeship program.
