Clark County Board of Supervisors Approved Resolution Disallowing Claim From Two People Involved in Snowplow Accident

Saturday, August 18th, 2018 -- 11:38 AM

The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution disallowing a claim from two people involved in an accident with a snowplow in March.

Back in March of this year, two people got into an accident with a snowplow owned by the Clark County Highway Department. The people filed a claim against the county and stated they suffered from severe and permanent injuries from the accident and are asking for $250,000 each. The County Corporation Counsel reviewed the claim, spoke with the insurance company and spoke with the Highway Department and advised the board to disavow the claim. The board also passed a resolution commemorating the 30th Anniversary of The Highground. The Highground is celebrating its 30th Anniversary and the “Fragments” Vietnam Veterans Tribute on September 22nd. To celebrate, they will have a wide variety of activities, music, fireworks and more that day.

They will also be covering Clark County in yellow ribbon as they hold a procession to The Highground for Vietnam Veterans from in and around Clark County. This resolution approved by the board supports the event. All of Clark County’s municipalities have approved or will approve this resolution.

The board also approved a resolution reducing the minimum bid for some property in the Town of Reseburg. They originally had it priced at $60,000, but, due to it not selling, they changed it to $40,000.
