Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves Resolution Amending Tower Lease Agreement

Friday, August 17th, 2018 -- 11:08 AM

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution amending their Heintown Road Lease Agreement.

This was due to an exchange between the county and Selk Electronics. Selk Electronics was going to pay the county rent for installing and maintaining wireless internet service provider equipment on the tower owned by the county on Heintown Road in Loyal. However, Selk Electronics agreed to install wireless internet service equipment at the Clark County Fairgrounds, at a value of $4,200, in exchange for them not paying a monthly rent of $120 for 3 years. The board also approved a revision to the employee handbook regarding part-time workers and holiday pay. The revision says that a part time employee would be pro-rated holiday pay and only if one of their regularly scheduled work days falls on a holiday.

For example, if any employee is scheduled to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the holiday falls on Tuesday, they would not be given holiday pay. But, if the holiday falls on a Friday, then they would. Finally, the board approved opting into a PILT class action lawsuit. The county was informed they could be eligible for funds from the federal government under Payments in Lieu of Taxes Act for the fiscal years of 2015, 16 and 17. There is no cost for the county to do this.
