Wednesday, August 15th, 2018 -- 10:07 AM

-The Granton Village Board heard the Waste Water Operator’s Report at their meeting last week.

According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, all reports were completed and they provided assistance with the reports. WWTP buildings were cleaned up and began prep for inspection, the chemical pump in well 4 was repaired and road work included widening the ditch at 410 Parkway and cleaning up the ditch at 212 Clark. Fresh gravel was also placed at the dead end roads, park cleanup included the debris from the fireworks display, trash and recycling pick up, replacing lightbulbs at the park, and adding black dirt to the south side of the shelter. The department requested a price from Xcel for electricity in the campground, but it can take up to 6 months to get a quote. Finally, scrap was taken to the junk yard, repaired the mower tire, fixed lights on the dump truck, repaired hose on the backhoe, replaced side steps on truck and put up compost signs.

The board also heard the Clerk’s Report. The village continues to work with Chippewa County Housing Authority to get all of the village’s CDBG files transferred over so they can continue to distribute interest free loans to qualified low income residents. Scott’s Construction provided a new bid including 4th Street and the new bid is $19,789. They also worked with the aging resource center to get assistance for a local resident in hospice and submitted the bid proposal for the purchase of 519 Main Street to the lawyer. She suggested they remove the addendum as is contradicts the proposal and remove line 434 of the proposal before signing. They also contacted Xcel Energy to obtain information for the Fire Department and the Fall Fest committee for temporary electrical service.
