More Local Schools Selected for School Safety Grants

-A few more local school districts were selected in the next round of school safety grants from the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

Attorney General Brad Schimel announced a list of schools and school districts that have been awarded the next round of grants through the Wisconsin Department of Justice School Safety Grant program, administered by DOJ’s Office of School Safety. The funds will be spent on building safety improvements, as well as training for faculty and staff. Grant dollars are divided into two categories: the Primary School Safety Grant and Advanced School Safety Grant. The newest local schools selected for the grants include the Granton Area School District for $41,470, the Black River Falls School District for $83,368, Columbus Catholic Schools in Marshfield for $71,927 and the Marshfield Unified School District for $160,000.

Some other districts selected for the grant in and around Clark County include the Abbotsford School District for $43,155, the Loyal School District for $62,505, the Pittsville School District for $41,032, the Spencer School District for $42,217, the Stanley-Boyd Area School District for $82,204, the Thorp Catholic School for $2,280, the Thorp School District for $42,400, the Owen-Withee School District with $66,585, the Greenwood School District with $41,564 and the Neillsville School District with $44,080.
